In states that Trump did not win, his electors cast their ballots for Donald Trump to be re-elected as president. This is poised to happen again.

In the controversy surrounding the fake Trump electors, several individuals have been indicted for falsely claiming to be the duly elected electors for their states. They signed documents certifying their status and submitted these fraudulent ballots to Washington, specifically to the U.S. Senate and the National Archives, as part of an effort to support Trump's re-election in 2020.

In Michigan, these fake electors were indicted for attempting to interfere with the results of the 2020 election.

Fani Willis, the district attorney in Fulton County GA, gave immunity to some of those Trump electors (allowing them to give a testimony)

The argument for these “alternate” electors was that they were casting these ballots as a “mulligan”, just in case Trump won in court

The electors that cast the ballots for Trump were not duly elected since Joe Biden won those states, and Biden’s electors should be the one to cast the ballots.

The Georgia Supreme Court grand jury (that Trump has gone to great lengths to suppress) ruled against Trump’s suppression, but the case is currently in limbo after the Supreme Court decision that presidents are immune from prosecution over “official actions”, and if it would be led by Fani Willis since she is in a romantic relationship with the lawyer she hired to manage the case.

However, there is evidence of a phone call that Trump made in early 2021 to Georgia’s secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger, in which he pressured him to find enough votes to overturn his loss.

This is poised to happen again this cycle. Several elections officials in swing states are election deniers and are posed to refuse to certify election results at the county & state level this November

Couy Griffin - Gut Feelings, not Facts

If counties refuse to certify, then the state cannot certify, leading to election chaos this November. This has happened already: Couy Griffin, who stated:My vote to remain a ‘no’ isn’t based on any evidence. It’s not based on any facts…It’s only based on my gut feeling and my own intuition.”

Please note that NONE of the allegations of voter fraud in 2020 have held up in court and voter fraud is extremely rare (0.0003% - 0.0025%)

Rolling Stone Investigation

An investigation in Rolling Stone, where they searched through social media profiles of hundreds of election officials in six swing states found nearly 100 officials that have openly expressed belief in lies about the 2020 election and skepticism about the upcoming election in November. Here is the full report, the officials by state are listed below. There are likely more, but the full list is hidden behind a paywall.

The Freedom to Vote Act and John Lewis

Republicans can’t win popular elections, so they’re trying to get rid of them

There are several instances of Donald Trump saying that he doesn’t need votes - because he’s already going to use these election deniers to refuse to certify states, and there is a larger scheme to delegitimize the election.

The best way to protect eligible voters from deceptive practices and other efforts to keep them from voting is for Congress to pass the Freedom to Vote Act and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, comprehensive bills that set baseline national standards for voter access — including automatic and same-day voter registration and stronger, uniform protections against voter deception and intimidation. The Freedom to Vote Act also includes a slate of campaign finance reforms to rein in groups like America PAC that can raise unlimited money from billionaire mega donors and often work closely with candidates. These bills came close to passing in the last Congress and must be a top priority in 2025.

The Freedom to Vote Act

The Freedom to Vote Act was put to the house by Amy Klobuchar in 2021-2022 and nearly passed. Here is the record of who voted on it (see the party lines?) Here is Chuck Schumer’s response:

  • “John Lewis once said, “Democracy is not a state. It is an act, and each generation must do its part to help build what we called the Beloved Community…”
  • With this legislation, we are not only honoring John Lewis and his lifetime fight for voting rights, we are also committing to doing our part to expand access to the ballot box and end voter discrimination, which has plagued this republic since its founding.
  • Recent history makes it absolutely clear that we need these protections on the books. MAGA Republicans across the country are continuing their dangerous crusade, self-serving, to restrict access to the ballot box – particularly when it comes to people of color – ahead of the November election.
  • So, Democrats will continue to heed the words of our late colleague, John Lewis, and will work tirelessly to safeguard the right to vote and our democracy, advancing the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act. We can and must build a more responsive democracy, and a more perfect union.”

Fun fact - a statue of John Lewis just replaced a confederate monument over 100 years old

Operation Ziklag - Wealthy Christian Families are Attempting to Purge Voters from the Roles

Wealthy Christian Families such as the Green family (Hobby Lobby), Jockey apparel, ULine Office supplies back Ziklag are working to purge more than a million voters from the rolls in battleground states and mobilize Republican voters to back Trump.

The news outlets ProPublica and Documented obtained thousands of Ziklag’s internal files and found the group has divided its 2024 activities into three different operations:

Steeplechase, uses churches to get out the vote

Mobilizing conservative pastors out in America, out in the field, to mobilize their congregations to get them out to vote. There’s some concern that maybe there’s fatigue about Donald Trump in 2024, that maybe conservative Christians won’t turn out in the numbers they did in 2016. That’s what this program is there for, getting the church as involved as possible

Watchtower, aims to rally voters around opposition to transgender rights

They believe that going after trans people, demonizing transgender Americans, transgender healthcare, can, quote-unquote, “deliver” swing states.

Checkmate, focused on funding so-called election integrity groups

They are putting money into mobilizing conservative voters in key counties — not just states, but the counties — so Maricopa County in Arizona, Fulton County in Georgia, the other battleground counties in the country, and then trying to put money into knocking more than a million voters off the voting rolls in these states. Christian nationalism is fusing here with the election denial movement that grew out of the 2020 election. We didn’t have a lot of evidence of that before this reporting on Ziklag.

ProPublica reports Ziklag’s mission is to take dominion over seven spheres of public life, which it calls “mountains”: business, science and technology, family, arts and media, church, education and government.

Business

Science and Technology

Family

Arts and Media

Church

Education

Government

Ziklag is a secretive network of ultra wealthy Christians, conservative Christians, who have this two-part goal, two-part vision for this country.

One approach involves actively participating in the 2024 elections by mobilizing pastors, removing individuals from voting rolls, and using negative narratives about trans people to galvanize conservative voters. However, looking further ahead—over the next two to three decades—Ziklag aims to steer the nation toward Christian nationalism, promoting what they term “biblical truth” and influencing every aspect of American culture, including the seven areas they identified. This represents a vision for Christian supremacy.

Where does the name Ziklag come from?

Ziklag, the name, refers to a biblical reference about David taking refuge during his struggle with King Saul. The analogy here, of course, is that the Christians in this group apparently feel that they are under siege and that this group is their refuge, but then the place from which they plan their campaign, their assault to take back American culture.

Eagle AI

Ziklag is investing between $800,000 and $1 million into a project called EagleAI, an artificial intelligence software designed to facilitate large-scale challenges to voter eligibility. With an investment of a few hundred thousand to possibly a million dollars, this initiative could significantly impact elections. In battleground states like Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, and Wisconsin, where margins can be just a few thousand or tens of thousands of votes, the potential effects could be substantial.
