DOGE and Elon Musk
In a bid to address "waste, fraud, and abuse," Elon Musk, with the backing of figures like Vivek Ramaswamy, who controversially justified H1B visas by demeaning American intelligence, created the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
While this task force has been lauded by conservative circles for its focus on trimming government spending, it has also been weaponized as an unconstitutional force aimed at dismantling crucial government programs that provide essential services to millions of Americans. Meanwhile, Musk, who profits immensely from American taxpayers—making a staggering $8 million per day—has taken steps to ensure that the cuts don't touch the programs that benefit him directly. Instead, he’s focused on eliminating services that might impede his business expansion. To add to the concerns, Musk has enlisted young, unqualified staff—some barely out of their teens—to access sensitive government systems without proper security clearance. As the Trump administration provides Musk with backing, even offering legal threats against those who damage Tesla vehicles, the question remains: what is really going on with DOGE?
